"catch by the eye save in the heart" -exhibition project

On 4th of May,attention was focused on a group exhibition project,under the direction of Polish artist Magdalena Rutkowska, who is living and working in London.
There were over 100 guests enyoing the opening of the event,including representatives from Lithuanian embassy among others.

"Catch by tyhe eye.."is Popularly known as an exhibition representing artists with diferent background.
Among exhibitors as diverse as British, French, Italian, Australian and Nigerian there was also work exhibited by Polish, Lithuanian and Ukrainian artists.

The exhibition offers an exciting opportunity to emerging artists who are at a
particular stage in their development, those falling between student and
recognised artist status

The 3rd edition of the event took place at London Mayfair.
The aim of the project was also to awaken the hidden artistic talent in the souls of visitors. The concept involves an empty canvas placed at the heart of the exhibition with paints and brushes left freely available. The parcticipating artists encourage the visitors to create an irreplaceable piece of art. The last canvas was painted by 90 people and managed to catch the attention of fans,media and officials intstitutions.

Another objective of the project was to represent different cultures from another perspective, paricularly Eastern Europeans.
With recent changes in european politic and the relaxation of borders between countries lots of people from the east of europe decided to use the opportunity of freedom to find a job or education in the Uk.

As the most prevalent opportunities in the UK have been those of Builders, Plumbers, Checkout assitants in supermarkets and Barmen, it is perhaps understanding that most British people rarely have the opportunities to meet accomplished professional artists, writers and actors from Eastern Europe .It is a very sad reality.

Among other things, the "Catch by the eye save in the heart" project aims to give artists with diferent nationalities a chance to represent the culturual profile of their countries by exhibiting their work together and sharing their reflections directly with the general public.
There are a lot of people from eastern europe who have registered for future editions of the exhibition.
The next one is scheduled to take place in the second part of September.
